Whether a team lead or a more junior engineer, your role will include analysis of client and product system requirements, including Systems Requirements Analysis (SRA) / System Design Specifications (SDS), User Stories and enhancement requests. Testing is focused on ensuring that projects and products meet system quality standards by planning, designing and executing the appropriate system test cases. This includes developing system test strategies and plans, mining and manipulating system test data, writing and executing system test cases, front-line triage of issues found during execution, and retesting of defects through resolution.

All associates will report test case and defect metrics and proactively identify strategies that will prevent defects from entering the system. The people filling these roles will need to be advocates for improvements that build integrity into the software development process.  You’ll be responsible for merging applicable test cases into the regression test suites, and works with the QA Automation Engineer to determine the test cases that are candidates for test automation.

QA Engineers are typically assigned to multiple projects, ranging from simple to moderate complexity, or to a single project of high complexity. You’ll execute project deliverables and tasks on time and on budget while supporting high quality software delivery. 

• May be responsible for directing and monitoring the work of team members (as team lead)
• Translate business and systems requirements into technical test requirements
• Creates test plans, data procedures and manual/or automation scripts
• Review and analyze client-specific system requirements and scope of services
• Analyze functional and technical system design for testability
• Collaborate with project team resources to understand and prioritize system testing efforts
• Provide input to system test strategies
• Define system test scenarios, create system test plans, design and author test cases and participate in the definition and execution of manual and/or automated system test scripts
• Mine and manipulate data to create system test data and system test cases for multiple or complex projects
• In collaboration with the project team, develop and periodically confirm system test schedule
• Execute Systems Integration Test Plan, including the comparison of actual results to expected results
• Document and report on identified system testing issues in Quality Center and participate in or lead defect triage and test status meetings
• Identify defects in multiple environments and throughout all phases of the development life cycle.  Ensure that development groups address all open defects in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required
• Minimum 4 years practical Software Quality Assurance experience, ideally supporting financial or ecommerce applications
• Must have experience working with mobile applications on any mobile platform
• Test automation experience
• Preference will be given to candidates with scripting or development experience

• Solid understanding of the software development process including analysis, design, coding, system and user testing, problem resolution and planning
• Strong technical skills including a broad understanding of relational databases, file processing and web-enabling technologies
• Experience with the following highly desired: Quality Center, Microsoft Project, and SQL
• Strong attention to detail demonstrated by ability to follow and develop specific, outlined and detailed procedures
• Demonstrated ability to work multiple projects simultaneously and to prioritize and balance multiple tasks
• Experience with test automation a plus (Quick Test Pro, MonkeyTalk, SeeTest and SOA Test)
